Grainger Films - Posters

While working on a range of projects at Grainger, I helped out through creating these movie posters for films they had worked on. I had a lot of fun and creating movie posters is something I had always wanted to do!

Life Drawing - Art

Working at Disney Studios provided the opportunity for tutored life drawing classes twice a week. I got there almost every session to pretty much get slammed by the awesome instructor Dave Briggs. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I also headed along to Julian Ashton's art school and the Art House Hotel for life drawing sessions, you may notice the familiar chairs!

Carols Logo - 2D Animation

Every year my church puts on a Carols under the Bridge show for around 4000 people under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For 2018 the theme was Signs and Wonders. A designer had created the logo and I was tasked with bringing it to life. A really fun job and I had been wanting to create an animated logo like this for a long time!

Kazoops! - Series

A fantastic series that I really enjoy working on as the Animation Director. Each episode had a focus on teaching and helping kids understand the world they live in with a great song in the middle! I had great fun leading the 3D and 2D team, bring all my past skills to use. Looking forward to watching this with my kids!

Ant-Man - Film

Before the end of the Figaro Pho series work, I was moved onto film work! It was fantastic working with Raphael Pimental, the head of animation at Luma. Seeing how he approaches shots, always seeking to make them better. I look forward to working with them again!

Figaro Pho - Series

I spent a year in Melbourne with the great crew at Luma Pictures animating this crazy kids TV series. I got to try a whole heap of fun animation tricks like smear frames, I had Eric Goldberg’s Animation Crash Course open on my desk the whole time!

Totoro - Art

If you know who inspired this... nuf' said.

For those who don’t, Hayao Miyazaki creates some of the most endearing animated stories you will ever experience. Driving artists around the globe to evoke more.

I want to do a series to go with the current movie screenings of the classics.

Water Colour and Ink.

Security 4 Women - Explainer Video

This project allowed me a lot of freedom. Working closely with the client in collaboration with Grainger TV to create this visual representation  of some of the issues in our work force today.

A mix of design, motion and animation.

Oxfam Unwrapped - Commercial

I’ve been working with the guys at The Magnificent Itch to develop this animation for Oxfam. I was lucky enough to create the first 30 secs of animation. It was definitely a new experience shooting video of myself acting as a girl for reference. I also drew up a few of the 2D effects. Great fun!

Remembering Dumbo - Art

I wanted to capture some moments for my sketchbook. Growing up I watched this over and over at my grandparent's place, only recently re-watching it did I realize how great it is. Such an emotive story with minimal dialogue.

M28 Living Generously - Explainer Video

Explaining a concept that is currently untapped elsewhere. M28 Communications is going forward as they seek to support the Gospel spreading out through the help of your regular bills.

Starting with just the dialogue, we worked together to create this communication piece for their company.

Friends have often called for art as gifts. I always had fun creating these. Taken from familiar themes, many hours curled over a piece of paper with a pencil! There are animal sketches that I drew for my portfolio that I submitted to Disney. A family crest for my cousins tattoo. My wedding invite that got wrapped around a block of chocolate. My frisbee team logo and a few others!

I have often been called upon to fulfil small design needs for mine and other churches. They are often a fun task with very open design briefs. Thanks to my wife, Imogen too for always giving good advice!
